blockbuster

Hello Peeps – I am not sure that I have anything much to say at the moment. I will need to think whether this is qualitatively different from having nothing to say (and will resist doing a John Cage reprise). I am reading, reflecting, re-drafting poems and thinking deep thoughts about geopathic stress, earth acupuncturists and the streams that run underneath us, in a literal and metaphorical sense. As this conceivably touches on something I am working on right now I obviously have nothing more to say about it. It is wonderful how many ways there are of saying nothing. John Cage knew about this, of course.

Since beginning this blog, I have put up 240 posts, counting this one. With an average of about 500 words a post that makes about 120,000 words – enough for a blockbuster. This either means something or absolutely nothing at all, but it makes you think. Be seeing you.

Funny, I never considered myself as a marshmallow candy chick before.

(Peeps, you started it.)

Signs, honey, it means you've written A LOT - and it's all pretty damned good. Can Joan Collins say the same?

Zhoen just for you, chick, I have put a link up to give some background - press Peeps to see. It probably won't mean much to non-Brits, but ah - brings back good memories.

Pants, and I am better looking than Joan Collins too and have all my own body parts. Mwah!

Where did you come up with that image of "earth acupuncturists"?

It is filled with signposts to other images.

Montag, there really are such things as earth acupuncturists - in my neck of the woods at any rate. They work in the same way as other acupuncturists, but with an area of earth instead of human body.

A blockbuster indeed, Signs.

I too dont have much to say at the mo, so I will fly off now....

Waving to you, Kahless.

Well I myself have posted 238, which is slightly higher than 240 posts. Kind of.

Anyway, it's the quality of the writing that I enjoy over here.

Wait a minute, Trousers - I know my maths isn't up to much and I never did master long division, but how does it work out that the number 238 is higher than 240? Chuffed and all that with what you said about quality - but even if someone were to look in and say omg, what a rubbish blog (and just don't, ok?), they couldn't argue with the word count. Because I've writ loads of 'em, and that's the truth.

Ah well, it's all very clever. You see, all you need to do to realise that 238 is higher than 240 is...

er,

hmmm,

ok, when I said kind of, I meant a complete and utter untruth or something like that.

Rumbled.

Trousers, I was just waiting for you to come up with the Less is More theory.

Do you mean people with drilling rigs?

Sorry, I guess I am being wilfully obtuse. But, seriously, what implements do these guys use to pin-cushion the Earth with? Needles?

My expectations are somehwat deflated at the prospect of REAL earth acupuncturists who probably belong to a union or guild or something - sort of a large, beefy fellow, telling his apprentice to hand him the smooth bore size 7 needle.

Hereabouts they just use metal rods, Montag, and there's no drilling. Some of the standing stones one finds are apparently a kind of earth acupuncture.

Montag said...

Really!!!??

When it was on the level of a metaphor, I was very keen on the concept.

I am not so sure now, given the prospect of some Tom o' Needles going about thrusting rods into the ground.

I shall look into it further, however. If further research ends in something extremely comical, I am in your debt (virtual debt, not real debt).

Tom O'Needles has been and done this very thing, Montag. Sorry to spoil the impression you might have had of me as a sensible and rational person, but there it is, I cannot tell a lie. The underground streams are Yin and the ley lines are Yang - they are all nice and clear now at Signs Cottage, just so you know.

A cheque will do nicely, thank you :)
