I think I will get both the Winter and the Summer books.

It's true, there is something about her use of language (and praise must also be due to the translator) that makes the prose accessible to the ME-afflicted brain. Sometimes I feel as though I suffer from a kind of dyslexia that comes and puts a barrier between me and what I want to read, even if the writing is good. Simple, strong, poetic language seems to be best.Reading the Signshttps://www.blogger.com/profile/06338983880105866139noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6432201290620111119.post-24710634770517543982010-03-07T19:40:01.456+00:002010-03-07T19:40:01.456+00:00Thanks to you i am now reading The Summer Book and...Thanks to you i am now reading The Summer Book and have The True Deceiver waiting on my bedside. I previously read The Winter Book and really enjoyed it, and when i read the review you linked to here it spurred me into buying more Tove Jansson books. I love her simplicity. I love how a whole story can be about a little walk and what was seen (moss, rocks, water) and a quirky thought/conversation. Good accessible reading for someone with ME! It calms me into sleep and dreaming.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6432201290620111119.post-16551014007600327102010-02-20T01:03:49.484+00:002010-02-20T01:03:49.484+00:00(o)(o)Zhoenhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/03515663141425057088noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6432201290620111119.post-90611829382607244902010-02-19T20:25:33.204+00:002010-02-19T20:25:33.204+00:00Beautifully sad and hopeful: you play both chords ...Beautifully sad and hopeful: you play both chords with sensitive hands.Mimhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/13039776441665375475noreply@blogger.com
